Obedience Dog Training
- It's Never Too Late

Don't despair if you have a badly behaved, uncontrollable dog, because it's never too late to get some obedience dog training for your pet.

Obedience dog training turns an aggressive unruly dog into an obedient loving pet.

Obedience dog training

A friend of mine once had a very excitable Golden Labrador dog that they found very difficult to control.

In desperation, they asked the local Police Force if they would accept the dog into their obedience dog training program.

After an assessment the dog was accepted and sent for obedience dog training and has since been assigned to a police dog team.

Many dog owners when they buy a puppy, don't always think about how big the dog will grow. Without correct and early obedience dog training, a big dog can become a real handful as they reach maturity.

Learn How To Quickly And Easily Train Your Dog Or Puppy

However, any unruly puppy or dog can be transformed quickly and easily in a few minutes a day with the right Puppy and Dog Training.

It doesn't matter if your dog is a large aggressive Rottweiler or a petite little poodle.

With proper obedience dog training an owner should not have to resort to such drastic measures as my friend did in giving up their dog.

In my experience it's not the dogs fault, but the owners.

Constantly Barking Dog

One of the most annoying things for any dog owner, is for a dog to bark excessively. This can often happen if the owner is away at work and the first you get to know about it is when the neighbors complain.

I once lived next door to such a dog, whose owner was at work all day.

Rather than leave the dog indoors all day, this particular owner would put the dog outside in the back yard.

After a few hours the dog would begin to bark at every passer-by.

The yard ran adjacent to a busy alley-way that was frequented by residents, so the dog had plenty to bark at.

This would go on all day until the owner arrived home.

The dog would bark so much on some days that by the end of the day it had a croaky bark, probably from a sore throat.

Most dog owners become very defensive at the suggestion that their dog could be causing a problem. So much so that they will refuse to accept what you say and right you off as just a whinging busy body.

So when approaching the owner to tell them about any problem, be calm, polite and avoid being aggressive or confrontational.

Be factual and present some evidence, a tape recording with dates and times is normally sufficient.

In the case of my neighbors back yard dog I resorted to video taping the dogs activity over several days.

This was because my first approach to the owner had no effect. The owner simply did not believe me, since when they were at home and the dog was let out in the back yard it did not bark, except to be let in again.

Once again, I didn't blame the dog but the owner. Having a dog and being out to work all day, leaving the dog on its own is never a good idea. This dog was bored and seeking attention.

Clearly the dog owner did not known how to correct the dogs behavior and both the owner and the dog would have benefited from obedience dog training.

If you must leave a dog on its own, have some background noise from a radio or television. This is company for the dog.

If you're present when the dog starts barking, tell him to stop in a loud but firm voice. If the dog is on a leash, snap the leash, but not too hard.

Sometimes the transformation of a dog through obedience dog training is so profound that the owners will swear to it being a different dog.
